Triathlon
Triathlon: The event starts with a 1000-meter swim in
the Hot Springs pool, followed by a 40k bike ride
on county roads and US highways, and finishes with a 10k
run on urban trails and paved and dirt roads.
Be a Triathlon Team! Teams
are welcome to participate in the triathlon. Be a 2 or 3 person team. Being part
of a team is a great way to take part in our challenging race.
Duathlon: Not a swimmer? Compete in the Duathlon which
consists of the bike and run portions of the event. No teams.
All participants receive a t-shirt, race bag, and lunch. Awards are given to the
top three finishers in each age category, plus top overall male/female in the Triathlon and Duathlon.
The Tenderfoot Mountain Triathlon is open to all ages 15 and up; those 14 and under can check out the Tenderfoot Mountain Kiwanis Kits Triathlon scheduled for Sunday September 6th, 2009.

Course:
Swim Course: 1,000 meter (1K) swim-20 laps in the Salida Hot Springs
Aquatic Center. (Indoor hot springs pool, 25 meters in length.)
Bike Course: 25 mile (40K) ride– 2 loops on county roads and
state highways. (Road bikes recommended)
Run Course: 6.2 mile (10K) run– Out and back along trail system,
dirt roads and hills
Eligibility:
Open to people 15 years of age or older; individuals, two or three member (swim, bike, run) teams are welcome. No duathlon teams. Parental consent
is required for those under 18 years of age.
Weather:
Average temperature on race day low 70’s. Due to variable
conditions, no refunds are available for any reason, including cancellation
of race. (In case of extreme adverse weather, race may be cancelled
or postponed at the Race Director’s discretion.)
Awards: Awards will be presented to the overall male and female triathlon finishers and the top three male and female finishers within each age group. Duathlon awards will be presented to the overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female finishers within each age group. Team awards will be presented to the top male, female and co-ed teams.

directly across the street from the Salida Hot Springs Pool (and

Registration Fee includes long sleeve T-shirt, race packet and lunch.

Walk in registration closes 8pm, Sept. 5 for kids' tri.
Packet Pick-up and Pre-Race Meeting:
All racers must pick-up their packet and attend one of the pre-race
meetings at
the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center Lobby– 410 W. Highway
50– Salida, Colorado.
Friday, Sept 4th: 6:00-8:00pm (packet pickup); 7:30 pm (pre-race meeting)
Saturday, Sept 5th: 6:00-6:30am (packet pickup); 6:30am (pre-race meeting)
Bikes must be in transition area by the start of the race (7:00 am)
